Cards by Mike Shiell

Artist Bio

Mike Shiell enjoys long, slow commutes to his job as an animation director. His cartoons appear in Reader's Digest, National Lampoon, Saturday Evening Post, BBC, CBS News, Prospect Magazine, Nickelodeon, The Oldie, Lucas Arts, Hallmark, King Features and most importantly - Nobleworks Greetings! Mike's cartoon, "The WANDERING MELON," appears on GoComics; and a number of his cartoons have been animated and appear under the title "The MELON SHORTS." In his spare time, Mike likes to spend time being grumpy with his family and dabbling in recreational snake handling.

This massive, mirthful, colorful, clever, cartoon, hilarious collection of cards contains something for everyone - assuming they have a great sense of humor to truly appreciate these garrulous greetings with. Birthday, Get Well, Retirement, Graduation, Valentine's Day, Christmas, Easter, Assorted, Halloween, Mother's Day and Father's Day; every one of these occasions/holidays is represented here in bright, brilliant illustration and funny, jokey verbiage. And there are even a few "And today's winner of a Special Place in Hell is …" cards to add to the fantastic frivolity.

Just to highlight a featured few of the marvelous, hysterical B-Day greetings: an Old Man Boot Camp drill instructor barks out the elder-enhancing orders to a grumpy group of geezers; Madam Lucille the fortune teller forsakes future prosperity and patronage with her ill-advertised sign, in vivid yellow, pink, blue, green, gray and purple; and a female and male anthropologist make the ground-breaking, cave-dwelling discovery of the earliest depiction of "jazz hands" painted on an ancient wall.

If you need a finely drawn, perfectly punch lined greeting card for just about any event, in order to spread best wishes and good feelings, then here is your one-stop card shopping selection - brought to you with grand cheer, great spirit and fine art by Mike Shiell and NobleWorks.
