Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas
This classic Dr. Seuss children's book comes alive and has been watched by several generations.

Christmas in Connecticut
Christmas in Connecticut is another WWII romantic comedy. There is some kind of mischief about an article written about farm life and cooking but the writer is just making it up and really lives in a little New York City apartment and can't cook to save her life. The people who read the article invite themselves to her nonexistent farm. Guess you'll just have to watch the movie to see how she gets out of that one.

For Jesus Christ, your Saviour, was born this happy night;
Along the hills of Galilee the white blocks sleeping lay,
When Christ, the child of Nazareth, was born on Christmas day – Dinah Craik in "Christmas Carol,"

Strange Christmas Traditions
Mari Lwyd
No, that isn't a misspelling. The Mari Lwyd is an ancient Christmas tradition that is so old it predates Christianity. Before Christmas was a holiday, the Celtic people in Glamorgan, who we are sure must be glamorous people, marked the darkest days of winter with this odd horse-skull tradition.
It was celebrating a rebirth of nature with the passing of the darkest, deadest days. Evergreens, ivy, holly and, of course, zombie horses, were all part of the festival. The Mari Lwyd is a mare's skull with a white sheet and pole.
This thirsty zombie horse, and its friends, hit up all the pubs singing songs causing mayhem and mischief until someone lets them in.
Black Peter
Black Peter is Netherland's Sinterklass who pops up the day before St. Nickolas Day with his slave to take bad children to Spain.
Krampus
Krampus is a demonic beast that appears during the Yule-time season in to beat down bad children (and random drunkards) as a contrast to Saint Nickolas, who is giving presents to good children. With bells, rusty chains and that disgusting face, he is a terror to everyone who crosses paths with him.
Donald Duck
What does Donald Duck have to do with Christmas? Well, in Sweden since the late 1950s, families often gather around the TV and watch Donald Duck cartoons. If channels didn't carry the cartoon on Christmas, people would protest. It since has become a tradition.
Snap-Dragon Game
Bet you didn't know that kids used to be encouraged to play with brandy and fire by their parents from the 16th to 19th centuries on Christmas Eve. This winter time game involved plucking raisins and other sweets from a burning bowl of brandy without getting too burnt by extinguishing the burning treats in their mouths.
Christmas Caterpillar
In some southern African countries, people mark the start of Christmas with a fried caterpillar treat!
Kangaroo Santa Claus
While doing his layover in Australia, dear old Santa ditches those pesky reindeer for some bouncy kangaroo to get around the island continent.
Rolling Skating Mass
In Caracas Venezuela, the streets are closed off so people can roller skate to church on Christmas.
