Got more of a nodding smirk than the sought-after laugh
January 21, 2019
The card's recipient appreciated the humor--but in a dishearteningly subdued manner. Others in the room either found it acceptably funny or so long to get it that, by the time anyone of them actually laughed, most everyone else had moved on to other things (which got kind of annoying).
Pros
  • A solid (if old) joke, re-purposed as a visual punch-line, with well-done art.
Cons
  • It really is a fairly old joke (i.e. "Ever hear about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac? Stays up all night wondering whether or not there is a dog").
